Real Life Weddings

Our next featured couple is Mr & Mrs Storrie who celebrated their special wedding day with us here at Western House in February 2022. 

 

 

How did you meet?

We met in West of The Moon, Ayr in September 2013.

 

Tell us about the proposal...

We had gone to choose an engagement ring together which was lovely! I knew Kevin had the ring but was unsure when he would actually propose.. he surprised me on Halloween night getting down on one knee whilst we were in Liverpool staying for a couple of nights.

 

 

 

What made you choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue?

We loved everything about Western House! Both inside the hotel and the grounds outside are just beautiful, we couldn't fault it and after viewing a couple of other venues, there was no question Western House would be our choice. Also the package Western House offered was incredible! So much included for a very reasonable price.

 

 

What was the planning process like?

A bit stressful if I'm honest! It was during Covid-19 so things were slightly more difficult to plan but we got to stick with our original date and had the wedding day of our dreams so we are extremely grateful for that!

Looking back, what was your favourite part of your wedding day?

I think just having all our close family and friends with us in such a beautiful venue watching us tie the knot was so special and the speeches were amazing! Such lovely words spoken, especially Father of the Brides poem, definitely lots of laughs and tears shed at that!

 

What is your favourite thing about married life?

Being Husband and Wife is just so nice!

 

 

What is your top tip for newly engaged couples?

Just enjoy being engaged and try to have fun whilst planning your wedding. Remember that not everyone will agree or like things you and your partner have decided on for your wedding day but it's your special day and what you both want is what matters most!

 

What would you say to couples thinking of choosing Western House Hotel?           

Please choose Western House Hotel as your wedding venue you will not be disappointed! It was honestly the most amazing day from start to finish. The staff were outstanding, the food was delicious and the honeymoon suite is just gorgeous too! Not only will you have a beautiful setting for all your photographs, you will have a special place in your heart for Western House for years to come. We went back for our first Anniversary and I felt so emotional coming back, it's just the perfect wedding venue!
